It will take a few days to start the facility of 450 types of tests in Mohalla clinics, dispensaries and hospitals of the Delhi government. Due to this, this facility will not be able to start with the beginning of the new year.
A senior official of the Directorate General of Health Services said that private sector diagnostic labs have been given the responsibility to start this facility. It will take some time for the contractor to start the facility. Soon in the new year, patients will start getting this facility free of cost in a few days.
The plan was approved on December 13
It is notable that the Delhi government had approved this scheme of the Health Department on 13 December. Then the government had announced to start the facility of 450 types of free tests in all its hospitals, dispensaries and mohalla clinics from January 1. Recently, the Lieutenant Governor has also approved this scheme. Therefore, the way has been cleared for the introduction of this facility.
At present, the Delhi government has 39 hospitals, 522 Mohalla clinics, 21 polyclinics and 201 dispensaries. According to the capacity of the pathology department, the hospitals currently have the facility of 250 to 400 types of tests. There was provision for 212 types of tests in Mohalla clinics. There is a plan to increase this to 450 types of tests free of cost.
