A former Lancashire doctor who is a resident doctor on ITV’s This Morning has written a book that tells children everything they need to know about puberty.
‘You Grow Girl!: The No Worries Guide to Growing Up’ has been written by Dr Zoe Williams from Burnley and will be published this summer.
It has been described as a modern growing up guide that discusses everything from periods and breast changes to hormones and body hair.
Whatever changes the girls are going through, I hope the book will help them feel confident, informed and positive.
Zoe explores everything from mental health and healthy relationships to hobbies and self-care, helping readers aged nine and up discover the confidence to be the best version of themselves.
Dr Zoe Williams said: “Growing up was a challenging time for me, as it is for many girls.
“I hope this book provides information, guidance and practical tips and activities to guide girls through puberty and help them feel confident, confident and most of all empowered.
“We live in a modern world where young people have access to unlimited, uncensored information, so I think it’s important for girls to have a resource that is honest, accurate and provides sensible and safe advice.
“Hopefully my own tales add some light humor and show that you can succeed in life against all odds.”
Laura Horsley, Director of Publishing at Hachette Children’s Group, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Dr Zoe Williams on You Grow Girl!
“Zoe has created a fabulous myth-blasting and energizing puberty book for modern girls everywhere.
“Taking a holistic approach to health, from understanding hormones and periods to boosting your self-confidence, the importance of physical exercise, and navigating unhealthy relationships, readers will be armed with the knowledge they need to ride through their teen years.” And need to be equipped with the lessons of life to thrive in adulthood.
